M. Scott Fisher, Jr.

Partner | Personal Injury & Civil Rights

Scott Fisher is a dedicated advocate for personal injury victims and people who have suffered a violation of their civil rights.  Before founding Friedman Fisher Verity, Scott was a partner at one of Richmond’s preeminent insurance defense firms where he was an integral part of the firm’s local government practice. He now applies this experience to aggressively pursue justice for civil rights victims and the injured, holding individuals, the government, corporations, and insurance companies accountable.

Scott has tried many cases to verdict in Virginia state and federal courts.  While many attorneys avoid federal court due to its complex and demanding rules, Scott thrives in that arena, confidently taking on challenging cases others will not.  Scott has handled cases at all levels, including arguing before the Supreme Court of Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Scott’s practice spans a wide range of civil rights matters involving discrimination, police brutality, and prisoner rights.  He also has extensive experience handling motor vehicle, premises liability, assault and battery, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death cases.

Known for his strategic and relentless approach, Scott takes pride in identifying his clients’ true needs and crafting creative, results-driven legal strategies.  Committed to making a difference, Scott serves clients across Virginia ensuring they receive the advocacy and justice they deserve.

Scott has been recognized by his peers for years.  He is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, been named a Super Lawyer for Civil Rights, and been named to Virginia Business Legal Elite.
